Please Pray for Taylor McGinnis

Please Pray for Taylor McGinnis
(Update below)

I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers. Eph 1:16

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Col. 4:2 ESV

Today is Thanksgiving.  It is a special day to be thankful for all the many blessings God has graciously given us.
Today my aunt's sister, Debbie, and her sweet granddaughter, Taylor, are spending yet another day at the
Scottish Rite - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Taylor, 5 years old, is a leukemia patient.
She has endured innumerable struggles for such a young little girl. Two weeks ago, she was admitted to the hospital having difficulty breathing and vomiting blood.  My aunt said that it is difficult to explain all the medical terminology, but a lesion was found on Taylor's brain caused by bacteria from her chemo treatments.  She has poison in her body that she is unable to fight.
Today, she is very sick!
She is being prepped to receive granules of white blood cells from a donor today.  This treatment suppose to enable her body to fight the terrible bacteria.  Doctors say that she will get worse before she gets better. Doctors also plan to draw spinal fluid today to test it for spinal meningitis.
My aunt has told me many sweet stories about this little FIGHTER.  She is so full of love for all those who care about her.  She always makes sure to thank anyone who sends her a gift.  I have heard her precious little voice on my aunt's cell phone, and she sounds so grown.  However, she isn't grown.  She is only five years old, and she is going through so much.
Please take time and pray for her and her family.
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Col. 4:2 ESV
In Colossians 4:2 It tells us to be steadfast in prayer, but do not miss what else it tells us!
We are to watch for the answer and give thanks for God for hearing and answering our prayers.  In other words, have faith!
God hears our prayers, and He is in control.  He knows what Taylor needs more than we do.
We have the Great Physician available to us today, so

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. 1 John 3:14

Update 12/01/14: As of today, Taylor is making her own white blood cells again! Praise God!
She only had to have three transfusions.
Please keep on praying for her.
Great things are happening!
Thanks and God bless you all!

Please remember my friend, Connie, and keep her and her family in your prayers.
She is still in the hospital.  She still has much inflammation and pain in her abdomen from the pancreatitis.  She also had a ruptured ulcer. Seems like for every good report there comes a set back. However, I will keep trusting that God is in complete control.  I pray that regardless of being homesick and in the hospital, Connie and her family will enjoy their Thanksgiving and have joy in their hearts.

Link Up #22 Late But It'll Be Great!

Here it is!  Link Up Party #22!
I bet you thought that I forgot about it.
Sorry that the link up is late again this week!  The time just seems to slip by me.
It happens to all of us, doesn't it?
Here is a very rough draft of a poem that
I wrote several years ago:

~A Vapor~
Life on earth is just a vapor
It's lived in only years
As we look back, it seems like only seconds filled with joy and tears
Live for Jesus now because life is passing by
an unsaved life is wasted, it only lives to die
These few years will seem like minutes lived within a wink
then you will face eternity as fast as an eye can blink
Twenty or a hundred years, however long you live
cannot compare to the glorious eternity that God alone can give
There are no less days in Heaven, you live to die no more
You will live a thousand years and a thousand forever more
Don't forget that there is a hell and it's as real as Heaven too
Satan says you have plenty of time, he knows life is a vapor for you
He knows that even a hundred years is short compared to forever
Don't let him steal your time, in this he is real clever
Look at last year and look at tomorrow
There aren't many days left to borrow
Even if you live past the ripe old age of ninty
that fraction of forever is ever so tiny.
~Chris Thompson

The Bible says...
Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.
James 4:14KJV

The Bible also says

... Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Cor. 15:51-52
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Thess. 4:16-17

Think about "time" today.
What if you heard the beautiful, anointed sound of the shofar blowing, and the eastern sky parting with a radiant light?
Within the twinkling of an eye everything would be forever changed.
Would you be with Jesus in the clouds, or would you be left looking up
with the greatest feeling of desperation and separation you'd ever known in your life?
Now is the day of salvation! 2 Corinthians 6:2

For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved! Romans 10:13
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”John 3:16

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live.”John 11:25

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”John 14:6

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”John 6:40

“And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:15

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” 1 Corinthians 3:11

Galatians 3:26, “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”

Until I am called up, my heart will go on singing, and I will carry on.
Oh, what a day~Glorious Day~ that will be!

If the Lord allows, please take time to link up.

Veterans of Spiritual Warfare

I wanted to write a Veteran's Day post, so I searched Google images for American Soldiers.  Even with my safe search turned on, I was sickened by the images.  The worst pictures were not those of wounded or dead soldiers but those of captured US soldiers being tortured or executed.
After a brief exposure to the disturbing images, I though about not writing anything.
I was unnerved and sick at heart from all the evil.
Stories of such horror have been on the news lately.  Radical groups beheading and killing others because of their religious beliefs.  It's not just our soldiers who are under attack.
 It's a global spiritual war.
Christians today, who take up their cross, are all veterans!
We are serving during war time.  We are on the front lines of battle
not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

This evening, I had to comfort myself with these verses:

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.
 Joshua 1:9

...The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. 2 Samuel 22:2-4

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalm 91

During the end time the Bible says that wickedness and evil will run rampant all over the world.
We are living in an evil time, but Jesus has overcome the world!

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 16:33

Verses from Psalm 37

Fret not thyself because of evildoers...

for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

...For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth....

...For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be...

...For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous...

...But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs...into smoke shall they consume away...

...the seed of the wicked shall be cut off...

...when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it....

...I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree....

but the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

Tonight, I was also reminded of a veteran named Joshua.
Read about the victory at Joshua 1-6!

This wasn't the Veteran's Day post that I originally had in mind, but it's what came to me.

Lord, protect our soldiers.  Give Your angels charge over them to keep them in all their ways.  Let no weapon formed against them prosper.  Lord, thank You for the freedoms that we still have in America. Let us have the heart to pray for our enemies.  Thank You for your mercy and blessings.  Help all Christians to see the state that our world is in.  Lord, forgive us as a nation for being so complacent and tolerant .  Please withhold not Your mercy from us. Pour out Your spirit and revive us.  Lord, let us be watching for You.  Let us see that the time is drawing nearer.  Shelter us from evil.  Hold us safely in Your hands.  In Jesus' name, Amen.

Link Up Party #21
It's time again to link up your beautiful, inspirational, crafty, helpful, & encouraging posts.

Here are the tops most read posts from the last link up.

The #1 and #2  Most Read Posts were both from
Looks like Miss Nontie's posts were very popular on the last link up.  Looking at her post titles, we can see that she blogged about some serious issues.  While the world rapidly falls apart around us, it is comforting and encouraging to read posts from other Christians defending Biblical principles.

The #3 Most Read Post is from a precious friend of mine, Mrs. Cheryl from
Mrs. Cheryl's love and compassion for people is truly "God sent".  The work that the Holy Spirit does through her and her ministry is simply BEAUTIFUL!
~How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
“Your God reigns!” Isa. 52:7~
