Please Pray for Taylor McGinnis

Please Pray for Taylor McGinnis
(Update below)

I have not stopped giving thanks for you,
remembering you in my prayers. Eph 1:16

Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Col. 4:2 ESV

Today is Thanksgiving.  It is a special day to be thankful for all the many blessings God has graciously given us.
Today my aunt's sister, Debbie, and her sweet granddaughter, Taylor, are spending yet another day at the
Scottish Rite - Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
Taylor, 5 years old, is a leukemia patient.
She has endured innumerable struggles for such a young little girl. Two weeks ago, she was admitted to the hospital having difficulty breathing and vomiting blood.  My aunt said that it is difficult to explain all the medical terminology, but a lesion was found on Taylor's brain caused by bacteria from her chemo treatments.  She has poison in her body that she is unable to fight.
Today, she is very sick!
She is being prepped to receive granules of white blood cells from a donor today.  This treatment suppose to enable her body to fight the terrible bacteria.  Doctors say that she will get worse before she gets better. Doctors also plan to draw spinal fluid today to test it for spinal meningitis.
My aunt has told me many sweet stories about this little FIGHTER.  She is so full of love for all those who care about her.  She always makes sure to thank anyone who sends her a gift.  I have heard her precious little voice on my aunt's cell phone, and she sounds so grown.  However, she isn't grown.  She is only five years old, and she is going through so much.
Please take time and pray for her and her family.
Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.
Col. 4:2 ESV
In Colossians 4:2 It tells us to be steadfast in prayer, but do not miss what else it tells us!
We are to watch for the answer and give thanks for God for hearing and answering our prayers.  In other words, have faith!
God hears our prayers, and He is in control.  He knows what Taylor needs more than we do.
We have the Great Physician available to us today, so
GIVE THANKS!

We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. 1 John 3:14

Update 12/01/14: As of today, Taylor is making her own white blood cells again! Praise God!
She only had to have three transfusions.
Please keep on praying for her.
Great things are happening!
Thanks and God bless you all!

  4. Praise God! Prayers are being answered. I talked with my sister last night and things are looking up. The first transfusion was a success and the second one was to be completed by 2:00 a.m. this morning. She may have to have as many as 7. All of the tests so far have come back negative. Keep your prayers coming. Thanks and God bless!

    1. I am so glad to hear this. Aunt Patty! That's great news about the test. She has been through so much, and looks like more to come. Praise God for the progress so far! I will be praying for the day when she is in remission with absolutely no signs of Leukemia or anything else. I'm sure more people will see this post after the holiday weekend and more and more people will begin praying for her. Feel free to comment here with any updates. I can also create update posts. Love ya!

  11. It is always a terror to go through some of the treatments that are supposed to make us better. Yet for a young child that is even worse. Thank you for sharing your heartfelt post with us here at “Tell Me a Story."

  15. Dear Chris,
I will add my prayers for Taylor and her family. My son battled leukemia also--it was a time that I drew close to the Lord and felt His shelter. I pray that Taylor and her family will be sheltered in God's love, feeling his presence.

  16. I have named my hair dryer, my "prayer dryer". Over the last two years the Lord burns pictures of children in my mind that are suffering or battling with big things, like your Taylor. What a sweet little girl. I just added her to my prayer dryer and will be praying for her as I do my hair. I have been growing my hair out for the same two years to donate to locks of love as well. She will be among the list of people I donate "in honor of..." Blessings. Will be praying for her often!!!

    1. Wow! I have never heard of a prayer reminder like that, but I like it! I have heard of writing names(prayer requests) on clothespins if you hang out clothes. I appreciate your prayers for Taylor! Thanks so much.
      God bless.
