Year of Jubilee 2015

Behold He comes, riding on the clouds
Shining like the sun at the trumpet's call
So, lift your voice, it's the year of Jubilee
Out of Zion's hill, salvation comes
Donnie Mcclurkin - Days Of Elijah Lyrics

We've all probably heard the prophecy regarding the Four Blood Moons. Two Blood Moons happened in 2014 on April 15th (Passover) and October 8th(Feast of Tabernacles ), and will happen again April 4th(Passover) and September 28th(Feast of Tabernacles ) of 2015.
Now let me briefly try to explain a Shmittah year and a Jubilee year.  A Shmittah year is every seven years. The Shmittah years fall into a cycle of seven. After every seven Shmittah years, forty nine years or 7×7, the first year of the new cycle, or the fiftieth year, is a Jubilee year.
A Jubilee year happens every 50 years.
The 49th Shmittah year began Sept. 2014.
That means that September 2015 will be another 50 years and the
Year of Jubilee begins!
The English word “jubilee” comes from the Hebrew word “yovel” meaning a “trumpet or ram’s horn.”These rams’ horns were blown on the Day of Atonement to announce the start of the Year of Jubilee.
The year of Jubilee (Leviticus 25:10) was marked by the fact that all the properties and possessions were given back to their original owner. This Year of Jubilee(2015-16) is the actual year of the 70th Jubilee. 70 is a very significant number in Bible prophecy, if you consider Jeremiah's 70 year prophecy and Daniel's 70 sevens prophecy. Prophecy Scholars believe the 70th Jubilee coincides with the seven trumpets blowing in Revelation. Does this mean that the trumpet of the Lord will sound soon?  I don't claim understand all the prophecy in the Bible or from the Biblical Scholars, but I do know the Bible well enough to know that these Jewish dates and signs in the Heavens coincide with Scripture.
We can not know the hour, but the Bible tells us that we can know that the time is drawing nigh.  It is easy to see the abomination, desolation, and putrid sin overtaking the world today.  If by some chance you haven't seen it, just go to Christiannews.net
The Bible tells us that there will be signs in the Heavens and on earth.
He is coming!
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation. 2 Cor 6:2

New Year 2015 (Joshua 1)

Church service this past Sunday, the last Sunday of 2014, was an inspiring message for the new year. The sermon came from
I want to share with you the message I received through the sermon and more that inspired me through my own personal study.
I would also like to say how thankful I am for my church and pastor. It is becoming rare to find a pastor who preaches with such passion each week, and a pastor who obviously puts much study into his sermons from the Word of God.  I thank God for a pastor who doesn't feed his church watered-down sermons or the same message on salvation Sunday after Sunday. Don't get me wrong, the message of salvation is vital, but we need the "meat" of the word as well.

In Joshua Chapter 1 the Lord spoke to Joshua.  In verse two, the Lord told Joshua,
"Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them."
It was a new beginning.
Moses was now dead, and the Children of Israel were on the edge of the Promised Land.  They were about to enter into something new.  Like the new year we are about to enter, Joshua and the people could not foresee what this new beginning would bring.  In verse 5, God told Joshua,
"...as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."

This is a promise is the same for us today as we enter the year 2015.
As we look at the world around us, we could easily become fearful or anxious about the future.  However, God instructs Joshua and the people over and over again to be  strong and of a good courage.
In verse 9, the Lord says,
"Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest."

Let us remember those words as we enter into 2015!
Let us also do as God instructs in verse 7.
God says,
"Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper withersoever thou goest."
God also says in verse 8,
"This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success."
Too many Christians are turning from what God's Word says!
Sadly, many churches are not only tolerating sin, but they are not preaching against it.  Furthermore, many denominations are embracing many of the sins that the Bible clearly teaches are wrong.
Reading the news, it is obvious that Christianity is under attack, or should I say the Words of our Lord are under attack.
Joshua chapter 1 tells us to meditate on God's word day and night, and not to turn from it to the right or left.
That is how we will prosper in the new year!
In verse 5 God says,
"There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee."
This doesn't mean that we won't have adversity or battles to fight, but if we
  • let not the book of the law depart out of our mouth
  • meditate therein day and night
  •  observe to do all that is written
  • turn not from it to the right hand or the left
  • do all that God commands us to do
  • and go whithersoever He sends us
  • rebel not against His commandments
  • and be strong and of good courage
we can therefore arise, go over this Jordan from 2014 into the new year of 2015 with confidence and courage.
You see, the Jordan River was a divide between the two lands.  As we approach midnight December 31, we will be crossing over into 2015.  May we have a newness with God, a spiritual refreshing from the river we cross!
 Hallelujah!
As we cross over, it can be an opportune time to set up our stones so others may ask,"What Mean Ye These Stones?" , not to dwell on any trials in the past, but to remember and share with others how God brought us through over the past year.

2015 may be our best year ever, or we may face persecution, grief from loss, sickness, injury, natural disasters, or any other trail.  Come what may, we can have a supernatural ability and assurance to overcome through the promises of our Lord that
He will be with us.  He will not fail us, nor forsake us.
What a precious promise for the new year!
As I think about these scriptures, I reflect on this past year and many situations in my own personal life and my family.  I see ways God did not fail or forsake me.  I think about Connie and how she has battled with illness this year, yet God has not failed or forsaken her.  I think about all the pain and sickness little Taylor has endured, and how God has touched her.
I wonder what the new year will hold for all those on Cheryl's blog at Homespun Devotions like the Brown family, Baby Obed, Jimmy, and Lauren who have been through so much this year.
Joshua 1 beautifully shows us how God wants to bring us over and into His "Promises".
Whether it's through to another day or through to the glories of Heaven, God never fails us or forsakes us.  I think about this as I pray for Lauren and Jimmy  who are both terminally ill. Be strong and of good courage, God will see you safely through.  He is still the same God today as He was when He raised Lazarus, healed the sick, opened blinded eyes, and made the lame to walk. Perhaps we will see a healing miracle.  Only God know what His perfect will is.
Whatever we may face, it is a sweet comfort to know that
the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.(vs.9)
As I look towards the new year,  I want to have the courage to "arise and go over" to where God leads me!  I want to meditate in His word day and night.  I want to turn not to the right or left, but STAND firm on the Word of God!
I want to be armed with the Word and be strong in prayer against any spiritual warfare that comes against me and my fellow brothers and sisters.
but ye shall pass before your brethren armed, all the mighty men of valour, and help them;
Until the Lord have given your brethren rest, as he hath given you...Joshua 1:14&15

We can get so much out of Joshua Chapter 1 and apply it to our new year!

There is no doubt that we can be blessed throughout 2015!

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. Psalm 1:1-3

Here is another perfect Psalm to pray for the new year!

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone. Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name. He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation. Psalm 91
I pray that God's church will be revived in
2015!

Merry Christmas Link Up Party!

Merry Christmas to all of my dear readers!
I hope each of you will have a very blessed holiday.

There came upon the world one night
a baby under a star so bright
Given to us from the Most High
He came to love, He came to die
He hung on a cross for you and for me
There was no other way it could be
Forgiveness of sin was such a high price
Paid in full by Jesus Christ.
~Chris Thompson
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11

"Mary Did You Know"
(originally by Mark Lowry (lyrics ) and Buddy Greene (melody )

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day walk on water?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?
This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will give sight to a blind man?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy will calm the storm with His hand?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little Baby you kissed the face of God?

Mary did you know...

The blind will see.
The deaf will hear.
The dead will live again.
The lame will leap.
The dumb will speak
The praises of The Lamb.

Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy is Lord of all creation?
Mary, did you know
that your Baby Boy would one day rule the nations?
Did you know
that your Baby Boy is heaven's perfect Lamb?
The sleeping Child you're holding is the Great, I Am.

Wonderful news!
Connie is awake and off of the ventilator!  Praise God.  Now she will be awake and able to see her family this Christmas! Thanks for praying, believing, and thanking God.  Please continue to pray for her.

Thanks for your prayers!
Taylor is improving each day, praise God!
She also has the Christmas spirit!

"But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint." Isaiah 40:31
Thank You, Lord
for touching Taylor.

Update on Connie & Another Prayer Requests

Most of my regular readers know that I have written about Connie numerous times during her lengthy illness. I have included prayer requests and updates in several posts, including Link-Ups, since she was hospitalized in September.
Last Friday, 12/12/14, Connie endured a complicated surgery that lasted over 5 hours.
(Read surgery details below.)
For a few days last week, she was able to sit in a chair for a couple hours although she was still in a great deal of pain.
Unfortunately, early Sunday morning we received word from Mickey that, during the night, Connie almost died from a bleeding artery.
The surgeon said that if he had been ONE MINUTE later stopping the bleeding that she wouldn't have made it.  Although this is very discouraging and terrifying news, I can't help but to look at it optimistically knowing that
 God was ON TIME!

I rejoice therefore that I have confidence in you in all things.
2 Cor. 7:16

Connie had to receive blood and is in ICU on a ventilator again. Her blood pressure and heart rate keep going up and down, but the surgeon feels like she will be fine.
~Please keep praying, thanking, and believing.~

(Surgery Details)
Connie endured a complicated surgery that lasted over 5 hours last Friday, 12/12/14.
Her surgeon said that he sees something this bad maybe once a year.  He had to remove 3/4 of her pancreas. Several students and nurses went into surgery to see the extent of the pancreatic necrosis. The surgeon is confident that the remaining pancreas will still be able to produce enough insulin. So please pray that it does.  Her gallbladder was the size of a cantaloupe, so he had to remove it.  It was a miracle that he operated when he did because her spleen was about to rupture, so he removed it as well.  He removed 1/3 of her stomach to repair a ruptured ulcer. There was also a lot of "cleaning up" that he had to do. After surgery, Connie was not stable, and the first 48 hours were critical.  After that time, she began to make noticeable improvement.

Meet my handsome nephew, Jonathan.
Jonathan is my brother's son and my only nephew.  I love this young man dearly!  He has been having digestive problems for some time now.  After he eats, he throws up.  He had an endoscopy, and one doctor said he MAY have Gastroparesis which is a condition in which the muscles in the wall of the stomach work poorly or not at all. This can be a terrible condition to live with.  Please pray that he does not have this.  He recently went to see another gastroenterologist who will be doing several tests on him.  His liver enzymes are elevated, so they are going to check his gallbladder.  They are also going to check the vagus nerve because I think it could have something to do with Gastroparesis.
Please pray that doctors will find his problem, and give him proper treatment.
Glenn, Jonathan's dad,  also needs your prayers for some health issues that he's been battling for a long time. Please remember my brother and his entire family in your prayers.

~Thank you for praying, believing, and thanking God!~

But go your way, tell his disciples AND PETER

Originally a fisherman, Peter was was one of the greatest disciples, and he was one of twelve apostles chosen by Jesus.
Looking at the following scriptures, it's obvious that Peter deeply loved Jesus and had a genuine, wholehearted desire to follow and serve Him.
Peter walked on water. Matthew 14:28-29
Peter confessed Jesus as the Messiah. Matthew 16:16
Peter cut off the ear of a servant of the high priest who came to arrest Jesus. John 18:10
Peter was present at the Transfiguration of Jesus. Mark 9:2-8
and
 it was Peter who said,
Lord, I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death. Luke 22:3

However, Peter denied Jesus three times, and he wept bitterly.
(Luke 22:54-62)

Can you even begin to imagine the heartbreak of Peter.  I presume it's likely that Peter doubted if Jesus could ever love him again.

Scripture tells how Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James went to the tomb to anoint Jesus' body and an angel of the Lord said,
"...he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.
But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you." Mark 16:6-7

Since Peter was a disciple in the first place, why would the angel have this specific message that emphasised Peter personally?
Perhaps, during those three days, Peter had been wondered if Jesus could ever love him again after he had denied Him three times.
This message from the angel, in my opinion, shows that Jesus was  eager to reassure Peter of His love.

Doesn't this beautifully illustrate the love and willingness to forgive that our Lord Jesus has for us?

Although we fail Him, He says,
"I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." Hebrews 8:12
Furthermore,
 like Peter,
it hurts the most when we have been so passionate for the Lord, and yet we stumble.

Are we grieved by our sin as Peter was?  Do we weep?
 1 John 1:9 reads,
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Here are a few more scriptures of reassurance:

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

As we celebrate Christmas and the birth of Jesus, we realize  that He is the reason for every season.  Had He only been born, we would still be in need of a saviour.  Had he only died, we would still be in need of justification.
But because He died and rose again, we are made righteous in the sight of God.
Now that's
Good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people!
Merry Christmas!
Jesus Loves you!

Christmas At The Chicken Barn

Today was Clean-up Day at the Chicken Barn, so I decided to share some pictures.
I had to spruce up the Chicken Barn for Christmas, just a little.
Mother gave me these old metal roosters for our chicken barn.  I had this old lantern and thought it would look good out here.  I put a solar light inside of it!
Can you spot Cuddles?
I may have to make some Christmas cards using this picture! Cuddles is such a beautiful cat!
 Here's sweet little Cali!
Who's first in line for a clean dust bath?
Nice clean nesting boxes
You can thank me later with nests full of eggs!

Here's a new face.
Meet our newest addition, Miles.
He's a stray, or should I say he was a stray.
I've got to get some cats "fixed" around here, or we may end up with more cats than chickens!

~It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas~

It's beginning to look a lot like
Christmas!
Welcome back to my Shabby Room
I finally put a Christmas Tree in there this
weekend.
We didn't have a mantle over our fireplace until this past Friday.  I had been wanting one for the longest time, so I decided to make one myself.  After a trip to the hardware store, this is what I made!
It's simple, but I love it!

I painted this old mirror with chalkboard paint, and Connie's daughter, Sydney,
did this beautiful artwork!
~O come let us adore Him
Christ the Lord~

The Christmas Tree in
I pray that all of you will have a peaceful Christmas!
The true meaning of Christmas should be celebrated all year!
And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.
And all went to be taxed, every one into his own
city.
and Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called
Bethlehem
to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.
and so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be
delivered.
and she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the
inn.
and there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by
night.
and, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.
and the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all
people.
for unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is
Christ the Lord.
and this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes,
lying in a manger.
and suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and
saying,
Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:1-14
